Hangamapim klos

Bulolo is an old gold dredging and timber town in the mountains south of Lae in Papua New Guinea. I am very fond of its settlement pattern with its own small standard timber houses dotted along the ridges.

The bush gullies are left for future alluvial gold extraction if it ever again becomes viable. Consequently, these gullies support lush growth with which the houses sit very happily.
