PNG Coffee Industry Board office and warehouse

The head office was finished in '82 and was, in its activities, like an embassy for coffee, PNG's then second largest income earning industry. To underline this significance, spaces within the building were formed with river-rock and ply. The timber structure transferred from round to rectangular members with cast iron connector capitals creating a kind of order.

The long term coffee warehouse behind had to make a space that had minimal temperature variations through a day/night cycle to preserve the liquoring quality of the beans. It achieved this, mainly through passive energy initiatives.
